Looking for leaves in the thick grassy furrow.
Such a sweet parent and child moment between these wombats as they chew on their favourite food. They are such large marsupials, I felt they needed to command most of the space in this artwork.
I used a lot of vivid oranges, yellow ochres and other reddish hues in the dirt and grasses around the wombats to contrast with their brown fur. The night sky in the distance was as dark as possible to signal the late hour. It’s one of the artworks I created for children’s book “Snuggled Away” written by Cate Storey.
