"Snuggled Down Tight" Fine Art Print from Snuggled Away
Good night little one, snuggle down tight.
This illustration was part of the opening spread for the children’s book I illustrated called “Snuggled Away” written by Cate Storey. Lots of people ask me if the girl is modelled on my daughter Juliette, because of the curly hair, but actually I used many reference photos to get the model for this sleeping scene perfect!
Even though I have been primarily a figurative and portrait painter in my past career, this is one of the very few scenes with a human being, most pages are about the wonderful Australian animals in our country! I really wanted her to be a child that many kids could relate to, so the blue colour scheme and a traditional teddy bear are all very deliberate.
