DIGGING HOLES IN THE SWAYING GRASS - Mixed Media

The bandicoot digs various holes in the ground beneath the moonlight. This painting is one of the artworks I created for children’s book “Snuggled Away” written by Cate Storey.
I took some risks with the colour in the landscape such as the purplish sky to offset the neutral colouring of the bandicoot and all the brown dirt it had scattered on the terrain! the bandicoot has a sweet little face with it’s long nose, so I made that the focus on the illustration and then went wild and loose with the kangaroo grass around it.
