Welcome.

I believe that art can inspire you and bring so much joy..

I’m Sarah and I love creating work about the bond between mother and child, the feminine form and the relationships created by movement and space.

You’ll see a fashion illustration element to my work from my background in couture wedding dress design, with a style inspired by the old masters. 

Recent work has involved illustrations for an Australian animal book series. I hope you enjoy!

Sarah works in a range of materials..

On paper and canvas including pastel pencils, conte and acrylic. 

Creating from her home studio in Brisbane, Australia in the leafy suburb of Clayfield. 

You can also see the work in person at the Robyn Bauer Studio Gallery

    Received my stunningly displayed Childrens Book “Snuggled Away” today by a local Author Cate Storey and beautifully illustrated by Sarah Matsuda.

    Based on the night hours of native Australian Flora and Fauna along with some amazing true facts in the back, I know what book my kids will be going to bed with tonight.
